Infosecurity Russia 2008
The 5th international exhibition-conference Infosecurity Russia 2008 (
http://www.infosecuritymoscow.com/index.en.html) took place in Moscow. The exhibition general Internet partner Positive Technologies actively participates in the event: on the company’s stand exhibition visitors and participants have a chance to consult with information security experts, the company acted as a curator and a coordinator of round tables “Practical security day” that were organized in the business part of the exhibition program.
Recognized experts from “VympelKom”, “DialogNauka”, “Informzaschita”, “RosEuroBank”, Positive Technologies spoke at the round table “Security assessment urgency”. During this event the following questions ware raised: the importance of practical security assessment works for business, performance assessment, international standards requirements. The members drew a clear borderline between real security and security “on the paper”, between feeling of security and real security level.

The round table “Tomorrow vulnerabilities: from IPv6 to Web 2.0” attracts more specialists than the conference hall could seat. Presentations of Digital Security, GLEG Ltd, Trend Micro, Websense (Associates Distribution), Positive Technologies spokesmen were taken with great interest and led to lively discussion. Themes discussed at this round table are not mainstream now but will be highlighted in the nearest future. The reports include a wide range of issues, such as IPv6 security problems, typical “consequences” of ERP systems audit, security mechanisms and Internet infrastructure vulnerabilities. Positive Technologies experts also took part in the events and round tables organized by exhibition participants. Security audit, practices of international and industry standards compliance, proactive protection were taken into account.

On the last day of the exhibition a unique event “Lion’s Den” took place – it was a presentation of new solutions on information security market that combines elements of products competition, presentations and show. Seven Russian and foreign solutions in information security announced in 2008 were presented to “the Lions” – the jury consisted of heads of information security departments and divisions in major Russian companies. The jury assesses different parameters of presented solutions but the principle parameter was the applicability of the solution in ‘lions’ business. This idea was illustrated by the final vote question: “Would you buy the product, or not?”
Positive Technologies “defends” its new product – MaxPatrol Compliance Management System that is a complex solution with security assessment active mechanisms, including system checks, penetration testing, standards compliance control combined with different operation systems, DBMS and web applications analysis support.
MaxPatrol system was unanimously chosen the most called-for product in 2008, and General Director of Positive Technologies, Yuri Maximov, was solemnly awarded honorable prize for the winner - “Gladiatorial sword”.
Positive Technologies thanks the organizers of Infosecurity Russia and its participants for the fruitful cooperation and exhibition guests and visitors for their interest to the company and its products.
